Supporting people who are experiencing abuse, or living with its long-term effects, requires a deep understanding of both the specific dynamics and the universal patterns of abuse and how it can affect a person’s ability to cope with a wide range of situations and relationships.

By exploring the pervasiveness and complexities of domestic abuse, this course will support you to recognise where and how you can support survivors on their road to recovery, which can be long and winding.

This practical and solution-focused workshop aims to support the mental health, wellbeing and resilience of frontline workers, with a particular focus on managing vicarious trauma.

With a key focus on reflective practice skills, the course will explore how to manage difficult emotions and challenging circumstances.  You will leave the course with your own individually tailored wellbeing tool kit.

The course is delivered by our partners RISE, with 30+ years of experience supporting survivors in Brighton and Hove in a wide range of contexts.
