This new virtual course is designed for those who have already attended an Introduction Motivational Interviewing (MI) course over the past 5 years with the aim to develop, embed and/or sharpen MI practice in order to increase proficiency and confidence to MI.

This traditional 2 day face-to-face course is being run over 4 shorter online workshops and aims to provide practitioners with the opportunity to refresh their skills and support the journey into being more skilful in Motivational Interviewing via a range of learning activities.

The course aims to provide a safe learning environment in order to be able to allow for skills development and experiential practice to take place so please note there is an expectation of delegate interaction throughout the training.

The course will you support you to:

• refresh and develop your MI knowledge and skills
• observe, identify and practise using an MI approach such as moving through
  the four processes skilfully with the MI ethos while also using the micro
  skills
• receive light coaching to help you towards MI fidelity in practice
• explore discord in further detail and practice managing discord in an MI
  consistent approach
• update your knowledge and recent research of MI & consider the value of
  integrating MI in your practice
• discuss and explore next steps for developing your practice and signpost to additional support and learning opportunities

Suitable for anyone who works closely with individuals who are ambivalent to change or who are seeking to create and find resources towards making positive changes.

Please note that delegates MUST have completed MI training within 5 years before booking on this course. 

Duration:

This course will be delivered over 4 sessions:  6/7 May &  13th/ 14th May 2021

Attendance on all sessions is required.  This online course will not be recorded.
