Universal Credit: Essential Update

Expired Universal Credit: Essential Update

Date & Time of Course

  •  14 November, 2024
     10:00 am - 1:00 pm

Location:

At the end of October, we had a Budget statement which confirmed millions of pounds in new funding to speed up the migration to UC of all existing legacy benefit claimants, which has raised serious concerns in the advice world.

We also had important announcements regarding LHA limits and the benefit cap, which will have direct consequences for your clients, along with statements of intention about prospective plans for the shakeup of disability and pension age benefits.

We will look at all these issues in this half-day catch up, which will bring you up to speed on all the ways in which your clients will be affected.

In particular, we will look at:

  • Budget-related announcements and their likely consequences
  • Supporting the most vulnerable clients to move to Universal Credit
  • How the Benefit Cap works, and who can avoid it
  • Statements of intent for disability and pension age benefits
  • Making the most of internet resources

Who should attend?

This course is suitable for anyone reasonably familiar with UC who needs to be confident that their knowledge is up to date.

It will not be suitable for people who are brand new to Universal Credit, or people who do specialist benefits casework.

Level:

Intermediate

The trainer’s knowledge, energy and ability to manage the space was extremely well done.  Sharing tools to empower our clients and highlighting important language and regulations.  Also the case studies were brilliant as it brought the training to life and was really memorable.
