This is a Homeless Link course that provides frontline workers with information about Complex Trauma and its impact on service users. It also provides professionals with key theories and concept on why being trauma informed is vital when working with complex needs individuals.
The course will cover:
- Definitions and exploration of complex trauma
- Exploring how complex trauma impacts on people
- Applying a safety and strengths-based approach to individual roles.
- Complex trauma and the impact it can have on staff (vicarious trauma/empathy fatigue)
- What trauma informed looks like (key principles and definitions)
- Development of individually tailored goals and actions to embed the key theories and principles
Please be aware that due to the sensitive nature of the topic there may be triggering or challenging conversations during these sessions. Please be mindful of your needs before and during the workshops to ensure that your wellbeing is a priority. You will not be asked or required to discuss personal experiences during the course and we invite everyone to consider their workload/personal commitments following the course to allow time to transition back into practice appropriately.
