Due to the Covid pandemic working from home is the new normal for many of us. Whilst this lifestyle has some definite perks (no long commutes and being able to wear slippers to work!), it also comes with new challenges.
In fact, remote workers are reported to work longer hours, at a more intense pace, with more distractions – often leading to more stress.
Some of us have been dealing with the distractions of sharing an ‘office’ space at home, whilst others are feeling cut off and isolated. Some of us have found it difficult to manage our own time at home and stay motivated, whilst others have found it difficult to switch off from work and are finding the lines between personal and professional life blurred. And many of us have found the switch to virtual communication and meetings challenging.
This new half day course will focus on key skills that will support you in your role when working from home and help you maintain a healthy work/life balance.
The course will focus on practical strategies and techniques to promote structure and productivity, whilst encouraging effective remote relationships. The course aims to promote a healthy mindset for homeworking, however, please note that it will not go into depth on stress, mental health and wellbeing.
This course will support you to:
- effectively manage your own time and workload
- establish space, routine, and boundaries
- stay focused, avoid distractions, and stop procrastinating
- communicate effectively and assertively when remote working
- stay connected with your team and colleagues
- manage expectations realistically
- develop a healthy mindset for home working
