Simon Hughes

Simon-HughesSimon has over 12 years’ experience in social care and is a member of the planning committee of the pan-Sussex multi-sector Practitioners Alliance for Safeguarding Adults group.

Working throughout the UK, Simon has been directly involved in Safeguarding work with a diverse range of people including adults with physical disabilities, sensory impairment, HIV AIDS, mental health, substance misuse, learning disabilities, as well as with people who are street homeless.

Simon manages BHT’s First Base Day Centre, a resource centre for people who are street homeless. Simon is able to draw on his extensive first-hand experience of safeguarding to ensure that participants will take away knowledge and practical skills that they can use in their day to day work.
