BHT’s new Empowering Conversations course provides a two day introduction to a strengths based psychosocial model to promote recovery and wellbeing. The model emphasises and supports the person’s potential for recovery. It is strengths based and involves developing hope, motivation, self-esteem, supportive relationship, coping skills and resilience.
The course is based on many years’ experience of working with clients at different stages of recovery in many settings including: mental health, drugs and alcohol, and health promotion. This model offers an integration of the principles and skills of several psychological and coaching interventions including Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused, CBT and life coaching to form a coherent model specifically designed to promote recovery and wellbeing.
Ensures you are able to:

- apply a step by step practical model to help clients build motivation, resilience and self-esteem
- learn and practise tools and skills to help clients (a) construct goals and solutions (b) utilise existing skills and (c) learn new skills to better manage their lives
- examine possible applications to your work
