Coaching is increasingly regarded as a powerful management tool.  It is the process of unlocking a person’s potential to maximise their own performance.

In the workplace, coaching is often undertaken by the line manager and involves a professional supporting relationship that focuses on the needs of the employee and the goals of an organisation.  The line manager’s role is to support and guide the employee to find their own solutions, to learn, reflect and grow.

The benefits of workplace coaching include improved performance, empowering and engaging individuals towards goals, improved relationships and communication, supporting people through change, and improved staff morale and retention.  Coaching can also help manage performance issues and workplace challenges proactively before they become major problems.

BHT’s 2-day Coaching Skills for Managers course will explore how coaching skills can be applied in your day-to-day management practice as well as considering how organisations can move towards a ‘coaching culture’.

Graeme Borrill is an ILM Level 7 accredited leadership mentor and executive coach.

The course will support you to:

  • identify the basic principles, skills, and benefits of coaching
  • understand the role, responsibilities, and behaviours of an effective coach
  • explore a range of different coaching models
  • identify challenges, barriers and limitations of coaching
  • apply coaching techniques to improve both individual and team performance
  • consider how coaching skills can be embedded into organisational practice

Who should attend?

Suitable for all managers, deputy managers, team leaders and supervisors.

This is a 2-day course, which will be taking on 6 & 7 November 2024.  Attendance on both sessions is required.

Please note, this online course will not be recorded.

The best training I’ve ever had. The subject matter was taught brilliantly and vastly improved my understanding and confidence around coaching.

This course is also available in-house, and prices start from £1,449 for up to 12 people.  This can be a cost-effective way of training staff and can be tailored to best meet the needs of your organisation.
