Coaching is increasingly regarded as a powerful management tool; it is goal-orientated, focused on improving performance and encourages personal development and reflective practice.
Coaching can also help deal with performance issues and workplace challenges before they become major problems.
The benefits of coaching include: ‘improved individual and team performance; improved communication; higher productivity; greater clarity about goals and objectives; increased creativity and enhanced staff engagement’ (CIPD, 2014).
BHT’s Coaching Skills for Managers course will explore how coaching skills can be applied in your day-to-day management practice as well as considering how organisations can move towards a ‘coaching culture’.
Graeme Borrill is an ILM Level 7 accredited leadership mentor and executive coach.
The course will support you to:
- identify the basic principles, skills, and benefits of coaching
- understand the role, responsibilities, and behaviours of an effective coach
- explore a range of different coaching models
- identify challenges, barriers and limitations of coaching
- apply coaching techniques to improve both individual and team performance
- consider how coaching skills can be embedded into organisational practice
